Brittany at The Book Addict’s Guide is hosting a (Re)Read Along of Marissa Meyer’s The Lunar Chronicles series, leading up to the release of Winter on November 10! I was recently given a copy of Cinder as a gift, and have been trying to find time to read it, so I’m excited to have an excuse to check out the series!
Did you love The Lunar Chronicles and want to re-read the series before WINTER comes out in November? Have you been meaning to start the series and are ready now that all the books will be out? Then now’s the perfect time for you to join THE LUNAR CHRONICLES (RE)READ ALONG!
You can check out all of the details over at The Book Addict’s Guide (or by clicking the banner above), but here’s the schedule for reading:
The read along will span from August 1 – December 7, 2015. Readers will be allotted four weeks to read each book. Here is the schedule for each book:
CINDER: August 1 – August 31
SCARLET: September 1 – September 30
CRESS: October 1 – October 31
WINTER: November 10 – December 7
Apart from the absolutely gorgeous cover art, I have to say the summary for Cinder is what really caught my attention. There’s a sudden increase in YA novels that retell fairy tales, and most of them make me want to roll my eyes. But a retelling of Cinderella with cyborgs, androids, and humans? Count me in! The rest of the books look just as fascinating, so I can’t wait to dive into Meyer’s series. (And I have to admit, I do love starting a series when I don’t have to wait long for it to be finished!)
Here’s the summary from Amazon:
Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.
If you’re a fan of the series, let me know! I’m looking forward to having people to chat with about the books as I make my way through them. I’ll also be tweeting my progress over at @justloveromance, and will be posting here occasionally over the next few months with reviews and other Lunar Chronicles-related posts.
