Blurb:

Justin was sent to get a mare, and is helpless to explain to his unhappy boss why he came back with an untouchable gray stallion instead, but there’s just something about the horse that wouldn’t let him leave it behind.

Of course, because an angry boss and a horse they don’t need isn’t enough, the horse goes missing—leaving a strange man in his place, a man who speaks in riddles and seems more than a little crazy, but he’s also just as hard to refuse as the stallion…

My Review:

This was a really interesting short story, combining Native American mythology with the paranormal shifter plot. Caitlin has a real way with words, and she manages to describe sensations and emotions so perfectly that I could feel everything that Nohatu and Justin were going through.

I can’t think of a story that I’ve read that pulls on Native American myths and ties them into modern day. So I really enjoyed something new and fresh. The way that Nohatu and Brother Mustang co-exist was very well done, and I enjoyed the backstory behind this.

This was less of a romance and more of a paranormal story with some erotic content. I’m really hoping that Caitlin decides to write more in this universe, to expand on Justin’s character and build a relationship between him and Nohatu!
